GETZ Driving Academy

Learner availability  

  • Availability only on Saturdays and a certain (1 day per week) will prolong training much longer than usual as we won’t be able to assist every Saturday or on that specific day and time. Testing (1 off day needed) and confirmation (2-3 hours +- needed) can only be done during weekdays.
  • Availability on certain days and times only will also prolong training.
  • Availability after school hours (from 14:30 onward) will also prolong training as most learners are scholars and everyone needs to be helped. Learners booked for their driver test are prioritized with time slots after school to prepare for testing.

Miscellaneous

  • Our K53 training is professional and up to standard according to the testing centres we make use of
  • Applicable to beginners : Learners with the following medical conditions can unfortunately not be trained by us.(We do not have the required training to assist learners with these medical conditions, automatic training is also advised as its much less stressful for the these learners).
    1. Autism
    2. Asperger syndrome
    3. Epilepsy
    4. Physical disability requiring a modified vehicle
  • Getz Driving Academy will not be held responsible for any injuries, loss or damages of any kind for whatever reason may occur to any client or their property obtained during lessons and driver tests. The client/parent and next of kin hereby release Getz Driving Academy from all such claims.
  • In the case of any involvement by you or any other family member towards any other driving school/academy or any establishment with the same nature of business, all negotiations and fees paid will expire with immediate effect and all moneys paid will be forfeited.
  • Please respect the training vehicle and follow instructions.
  • The client will be held responsible to pay for any damage caused during lessons and drivers tests due to recklessness, negligence and not following instructions. This includes mechanical abuse, body work, tire and/or rim/mag wheels, interior etc. once the cost of damage has been determined.

Service Payments

  • All Services and packages must be paid in full before service commences.
  • Late arrival with lesson will mean shorter lesson time.
  • Packages not refundable.
  • In case of any refund to be done on packages, services already rendered will be deducted and the balance will be refunded within 30 Days – T’s and C’s Applicable
  • In case of manual training packages being changed to automatic training packages the cost of the package will be updated accordingly.

Cancellations

  • Test dates booked according to available dates provided by the client/learner will not be cancelled without losing the test day, client/learner will be charged for a new test day (learners and drivers test)
  • Lessons must be cancelled 24 Hours in advance to avoid forfeiting of the lesson.
  • Exception will be made in case of sickness.
  • Please do not arrive sick on lesson day, rather re-schedule as we instructors can’t afford to become sick as we have other learners to attend to.

Learners License Package

  • Please note that no persons (parents, friends, brothers or sisters) other than learners are allowed in our vehicles during lessons, confirmation trip and day of testing.
  • Test dates booked according to available dates provided by the client/learner will not be cancelled without loosing the test day, client/learner will be charged for a new test day (learners and drivers test)
  • Learners Test package is only valid up to the first test.
  • A valid SA ID or Passport is required to book for a Learners license.
  • After receiving your client registration form, copy of ID and Proof of payment you will be registered on the verbal online course.
  • Learner must let us know as soon as he/she feels ready to do the test (Certificate of completion required )
  • As soon as we are notified a learner’s test will be booked as soon as possible.
  • Learners test dates are booked within 2 – 3 weeks, depending on testing center slots opened, for 9:00, 10:00, 11:00, 12:00 or 13:00 with no exceptions.
  • Once the test date has been booked confirmation must be done in person within 7 days from booking date. Please bring with your ID, Copy of ID, and 2 ID photos, optometrist eye test and bank card (No cash accepted at testing centers).
  • Test confirmations are done in the mornings between 8:00 and 12:00. If you are not able to confirm within that time period confirmation must be done by the learner. If confirmation is not done and the test date is lost you will have to pay for a new Test day.
  • Confirmation fee (R108) and Learners issuing fee (R60) are excluded and need to be paid by Learner.
  • On the test date we will take you to write the test. You must bring with your ID, ID photos and appointment slip.
  • When we take you for confirmation or to write your test and the application or test or issuing can’t be done due to circumstances out of our control the client will have to go back at their own cost to complete the transaction. If we are required to take client to testing center on another day (if available) client will be charged for a confirmation or Learners issuing Trip.
  • Confirmed dates can’t be changed in any way.
  • Any dispute regarding test results will be between the testing center and client.

Drivers License Test

  • Please note that no persons (parents, friends, brothers or sisters) other than learners are allowed in our vehicles on the day of testing.
  • Test dates booked according to available dates provided by the client/learner will not be cancelled without losing the test day, client/learner will be charged for a new test day (learners and drivers test)
  • A valid Learners License is required to book for a Driver license Test.
  • After receiving your client registration form, copy of ID, valid Learners License and Proof of payment, driving lessons can be booked and a Driver test as soon as the learner is ready to test. No test will be booked if learner is not ready for a test*.
  • *To be determined by Instructor and learner together.
  • Drivers test dates are booked within 2 – 3 weeks, depending on testing center slots opened and availability of learner.
  • Once the test date has been booked confirmation must be done in person within 7 days from booking date. Please bring with your ID, Copy of ID, 2 ID photos, Original learners, copy of learners and optometrist eye test and bank card (No cash accepted at testing centers.)
  • Confirmation fee (R228) and Drivers issuing fee (R228) are excluded and need to be paid by Learner.
  • On the test date we will take you to do your driver license test. You must bring with your ID, ID photos and appointment slip and original Learners License.

Driving Lessons

  • Please note that no persons (parents, friends, brothers or sisters) other than learners are allowed in our vehicles during lessons.
  • A valid and original (not a copy or photo on cellphone) learners license must be present with every lesson or the instructor will not proceed with the lesson. (This is your legal document to drive under instruction on a public road)
  • We are available 6 days a week from 8:00 to 17:00(Weekdays) 8:00 to 13:00(Saturdays) for driving lessons.
  • We can not guarantee availability every Saturday
  • No services/lessons will be done on a Sunday.
  • Lessons are with our vehicle (or own vehicle) and we pick up and drop off at any address in Pretoria East or centurion.
  • You may choose to use your own vehicle only if you can already drive.
  • Lesson fee stays the same.
  • Lessons are charged per hour. 1 hour lessons are driving only. 2 hour lessons include driving and parking.
  • Booked lessons must be cancelled 24hrs in advance else lesson will be forfeited.
  • We shall have the right to cancel or withhold any training from any client if we are of the opinion that are acting reckless, not trainable or might cause damage to other vehicles or persons.
  • NO REFUNDS will be given for any payments made for services booked and cancelled for whatever reason.

Package Descriptions

Learners Test Package

  • Please note that no persons (parents, friends, brothers or sisters) other than learners are allowed in our vehicles during lessons, confirmation trip and day of testing.
  • Test dates booked according to available dates provided by the client/learner will not be cancelled without losing the test day, client/learner will be charged for a new test day (learners and drivers test)
  • Learners Test package is only valid up to the first test.
  • Learner will be registered on the verbal online course as soon as Proof of payment is received.
  • No Classes are offered- self-study only(Verbal online course).
  • As soon as notification is received that you are ready to write, a test date will be booked as soon as possible.
  • Learners test dates are booked within 2 to 3 weeks, depending on testing center, for 9:00, 10:00, 11:00, 12:00 or 13:00 with no exceptions.
  • Booking confirmation must be done within 7 days of booking in person (we take you).

  • ID (Original) and a copy of your ID.

  • Copies do not have to be certified.

Test booking.

  • All tests are booked during school hours when schools are open.
  • Learners test dates are booked for 9:00, 10:00, 11:00, 12:00 or 13:00 with no exceptions.
  • The client must confirm booking in person.
  • Approximate waiting period from test booking +- 2-3 weeks.
  • All tests are computer based.

Driving Lessons Code B

  • Please note that no persons (parents, friends, brothers or sisters) other than learners are allowed in our vehicles during lessons.
  • We are available 6 days a week from 8:00 to 18:00 (weekdays) and 8:00 to 13:00 (Saturdays) for driving lessons.
  • Lessons are with our vehicle and we pick up and drop off at any address in Pretoria East or Centurion.
  • Booked lessons must be cancelled 24hrs in advance else lesson will be forfeited.
  • You may choose to use your own vehicle only if you can already drive.
  • Parking Area Fees (R30) are not included in Lesson fees. Client must pay the fee in cash to the parking area attendant.

Driver License Lesson/Test Package

  • Please note that no persons (parents, friends, brothers or sisters) other than learners are allowed in our vehicles during lessons, confirmation trip and day of testing.
  • Test dates booked according to available dates provided by the client/learner will not be cancelled without losing the test day, client/learner will be charged for a new test day (learners and drivers test)
  • Driver License Lesson/Test packages must be started and used within 90 days of payment.
  • As soon as the Instructor and learner both agree that learner is ready for testing a Drivers-Test will be booked as soon as possible.
  • Booking confirmation must be done within 7 days of booking in person (we take you).
  • Test confirmations are done in the mornings between 8:00 and 12:00. If you are not able to confirm within that time period confirmation must be done by the learner. If confirmation is not done and the test date is lost you will have to pay for a new Test day.
  • We take you to the testing centre on the day of your test.
